LG GD510 Pop – Simple Yet Attractive

October 17th, 2009 Simon No comments

LG GD510 PopWith a number of touch screen phones announced to be released this season, LG has decided to introduce a phone that probably surpasses all when it comes to a minimalist and simple design. The compact design of LG GD510 Pop is very simple to use, and the touch screen interface is supported by a single physical button that can be used for a number of functions. The phone guides the user about the current function of the button by changing the background light color to red or green, which means that you can make and end a call using the same button. The minimalist design of the GD510 Pop makes the most of its space, and dedicates 3 inches out of its 4 inch size to the 256k-color TFT touch screen of the phone with a resolution of 240 x 400 pixels, which is lined by a thin bezel in the manner of a LCD television. There is nothing special about the display or other features of the phone, and the phone is expected to be lying in a budget friendly price range for a touch screen phone.

But the compact design of the phone and its glossy aluminum finish gives it a very attractive look. The phone is very light and weighs just 90 grams. The dimensions of this compact phone are 4 x 1.9 x 0.6 inches. The only unique feature of the phone seems to be the solar panels on its battery cover, which allow you to use solar power to charge your phone, which uses a standard Li-ion 900 mAh battery. A plus of the phone is its internal storage, which is 8 GB. Other features of LG GD510 include a 3.0 mega pixel camera, multimedia playback support, GPRS and EDGE network support, Bluetooth v 2.0 with A2DP and FM Radio. The Phone should be up for grabs later this year with some great LG GD510 Pop deals to pick from.

Samsung Omnia Pro B7330 – What to Expect?

October 16th, 2009 Simon No comments

Samsung Omnia Pro B7330One of the latest Omnia series smartphones is the Samsung Omnia Pro B7330. For those who are not familiar with the earlier released Omnia Pro B7320, of which the Pro B7330 is an improved version, it is a smartphone with a QWERTY keypad on the front as in the classical BlackBerry smartphone design, and features a relatively smaller screen with a modest resolution. However, the phone has an excellent performance potential when it comes to advance internet features and support for various wireless network protocols. Both the Omnia Pro B7320 and the Omnia Pro B7330 are mainly targeted for business professionals, who can find most of their professional requirements fulfilled by the phone. Neither of the phones offers the touch screen feature.

Omnia Pro B7330 only features a larger screen than that of the Pro B7320, which is a 2.62” TFT with a 320 x 320 pixel resolution, which makes it a little uncomfortable for users who are used to entertainment sources, such as watching movies on their smartphones. But when it comes to advanced internet features including the Outlook Mail feature, full HTML and WAP 2.0 web browsing and integration with popular social networking websites such as Facebook and MySpace, the phone rivals the best smartphones in the business, and easily threatens to surpass them in performance. The main reason for that is the wide variety of network connectivity platforms that Omnia Pro B7330 offers to its users. The supported network modes include Wi-Fi, GPRS, GPS, GSM, WAP, USB, EDGE, and 3G protocols like HSDPA and HSUPA. In fact, HSUPA is an addition that has been introduced in the Omnia Pro B7330, which was not available in the earlier version of the phone.

The phone is preinstalled with Windows Mobile 6.5, the latest version of the operating system, features an internal memory of 270 MB and is equipped with assisted GPS and a 3.0 mega pixel auto focus camera. You will be able to make the most of the Samsung Omnia Pro B7330 deals later this year when the phone is released.

October 14th, 2009 Simon No comments

Along with the announcement of the Vodafone 360 H1 Smartphone, another one in the Vodafone 360 series was confirmed to be released soon. The second smartphone was announced to be named Vodafone 360 M1. The Samsung manufactured M1 is slightly smaller and lighter than its sister smartphone H1. There is little difference in design otherwise, but H1 is superior in a number of features. The M1 features a 3.2” TFT touch screen in comparison to the 3.5” OLED touch screen of the H1. The M1 only comes with 1GB internal memory as compared to the 16 GB internal memory of the H1, while the M1 also lacks Wi-Fi connectivity. Furthermore, the M1 features a 3.0 mega pixel camera in comparison to the 5.0 mega pixel camera of the Vodafone 360 H1.

This surely gives you an idea that Vodafone 360 M1 would be a cheaper and smaller version of the H1 smartphone. But the most important feature that the users will look forward to is the Vodafone 360 experience, which is equally featured in both the smartphones. This newly launched platform to be featured on both of these smartphones by Vodafone will help users integrate all their contacts into their phone address book and to synchronize with the websites to receive regular updates from their friends and other online news sources into their phone, which can make life a lot easier for the users, and will add immense value to their online experience. The Vodafone 360 also enables users to maintain their photo albums

Both the phones are promising users a very smooth and easy-to-use interface, which will be useful for them to be in control of the activities they want to engage on their phones and to manage their online social networking and email accounts in a much efficient manner. If the phone tickles your fancy then be sure to be on the lookout for Vodafone 360 M1 on contract or Pay As You Go, if thats what you prefer.

Be pure with the Sony Ericsson Xperia Pureness

October 6th, 2009 Simon No comments

Before the unveiling of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Pureness, we though that the Xperia line of phones by Sony Ericsson were to consist of just the flagship phones i.e. the phones which packed some serious features in it. This strategy had some good reasons behind it, according to what Sony Ericsson said at the Mobile World Congress held in Barcelona earlier this year.

However, Sony Ericsson seems to have bucked what they just said by unveiling a fashion phone in the form of the Pureness, meaning that we can expect other types of phones to enter the Xperia series as well. The Pureness is the brand new flagship stylish phone of SE. This phone doesn’t have all the nice and fancy features that smartphones have, such as the XPERIA X2, but, rather, the focus of the phone is on the sleek industrial design. The whole idea behind this quite stunning phone is to enable the customers to have a holiday from technology and, instead, focus on the aesthetic part of phones.

The phone makes use of a transparent monochrome display which is a clear indication of the concept that they are trying to introduce with this phone of lower – tech – higher style. The full specifications of the phone haven’t been released yet. However, we have some information on hand which says that the phone should be able to support all types of 2G networks and will also have Bluetooth as well. The camera module for the phone will be available in the form of an add – on attachment.

The phone is set for release in November 2009 in particular retail channels in certain cities around the world, including some in the UK, for a whooping 640 pounds. Check out more Sony Ericsson Xperia Pureness Reviews as well as Pureness deals.

Hello social networks!

October 6th, 2009 Simon No comments

The Samsung B3310 is a shot by Samsung at the growing popularity of social networks such as Facebook, MySpace and Twitter. Basically, this is a phone which is designed mainly towards those who use these networks, as well as those who want a nice stylish phone on a budget.

Innovation is pretty much everything in the mobile phone industry. Without any innovation, phones would have been just phones, rather than dedicated music players or navigation devices. There wouldn’t be email, internet, Bluetooth, cameras, big colour screens, GPS, touchscreen, high speed internet and so fort. However, there is a certain boundary to such innovation and Samsung certainly seem to have crossed the boundary with the B3310. The phone itself isn’t so bad, it’s just that the motivation behind putting the alphanumeric keys on the side of the screen is mind – baffling!

We all know how phones with quirky keypads like the Nokia 3650 and the Nokia 7600 faded into obscurity, so this phone, too, seems resigned to the same fate. However, a good specs sheet, combined with the QWERTY keyboard, save the phone from plunging into the depths of obscurity.

Other than the quirky alphanumeric keys, the phone, as mentioned earlier, has a full QWERTY keyboard which is revealed by sliding the phone sideways. Under the screen is a very big 5 – directional D-pad as well as 2 navigation keys and a call accept and call reject button. We just get the feeling that, rather than making these keys so big, they could’ve rather made the screen a bit bigger.

Other features of the phone include a TFT QVGA screen which displays a maximum of 256k colours, an accelerometer sensor, a 2 megapixel camera with QVGA video recording, stereo Bluetooth, music player, video player and an internal memory of 40 MB which is expandable via the microSD memory card slot.

This phone was released back in the middle of September and there are lots of nice Samsung B3310 deals to choose from right now.

Looking for a Christmas present? Nokia X3’s the answer

October 5th, 2009 Simon No comments

With a number of phones having been released during the Nokia World Event in Stuttgart, Nokia have clearly demonstrated their intentions to continue as the global mobile phone leader. The phones that generated a lot of interest at the event were the members of the new X-series, the Nokia X3 and the Nokia X6. The Nokia X3 Reviews have been quite positive, so let’s see what’s under the hood.

Coming in a very sleek body, the slider phone really looks great. It is a music – centric device which has a large number of features in a very compact design. The phone has a 2.2 inch display which is capable of displaying a maximum of 256,000 colours and has a resolution of 240×320 pixels. The D-pad navigation key is present under the screen. The phone also has music dedicated keys. The phone is fairly slim at 14 mm and weighs in at a light 103 grams. The keypad is a flat metallic one, reminiscent of the keypad on the famous MOTORazr V3.

The music player is of the highest quality, capable of supporting MP3, WMA and AAC songs. The phone has an internal memory of 70 MB and is expandable to 16 GB via the microSD memory card slot. There is a 3.5 mm headset jack on the phone, enabling you to use your favourite headset with the phone. The presence of stereo Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP profiles means that you can use your stereo Bluetooth headset as well.

The X3 is unique in that it is the first S40 phone to support direct access to the Nokia OVI store. The store has a number of apps and games and the likes which can be purchased. Music and video clips are also present. The phone is armed with a 3.2 MP camera which has fixed focus and an LED flash to aid taking pictures in low – light.

With a great package like this, why wouldn’t this phone be a success? The X3 is set to be released in the 4th quarter of this year, perhaps during Christmas, for an estimated price of 105 pounds, so make sure you have some money saved up to make the most of one of the great Nokia X3 deals that will be on offer.

Nokia forays into the laptops market with the Nokia Booklet 3G

October 1st, 2009 Simon No comments

As all of you are aware, it’s not everyday that we have a look at a notebook. However, when a major player in the mobile phone market suddenly decides that they should be diversifying their interests into another technological market, it’s high time we take notice!

The Nokia Booklet 3G was announced by Nokia through Nokia Conversations and, as you will know, is Nokia’s first steps into the unknown world of laptops and netbooks. Considering the fact that all of us are computer geeks to a certain extent (and openly acknowledged mobile phone geeks), much as we try, we can’t stay silent about Nokia’s first netbook, the Nokia Booklet 3G.

However, to actually understand how serious Nokia are with their netbook, a look at the pictures of the netbook should clear these doubts for you.

The Nokia Booklet 3G makes use of the Intel Atom platform. It is also the first ever netbook to have HDMI HD video output and, though we don’t really expect it to be super – awesome or anything like that, the fact that this video output is present on an Atom laptop is a very good step in making laptops media – houses as well.

This netbook’s battery is capable of operating for about 12 hours, which will ensure that it will act as a faithful companion regardless of where you go. The netbook, true to its name, has a modem which is capable of supporting surfing on HSDPA and 3G networks. You can also connect to the internet on this netbook via the Wi-Fi internet connectivity option.

The netbook has a GPS receiver. It has a 10 inch screen and is just 20 mm thick and weight only 1.25 kg. A web cam is also available, as is Bluetooth. Nokia Booklet 3G Reviews have mentioned that the netbook will be retailing for £520. When it is released there will be lots of great Booklet 3G contracts available for you to choose from.
