Samsung S5230
Out of the new phones scheduled to be released later this year, one that stands out as a striking middle range phone is the Samsung S5230. The phone comes in a block format. It is slim and compact with a thickness of only 11.9mm.The display of the phone is a 3 inch WQVGA touch screen with the Samsung Touch Wiz interface. The screen has a 240 x 400 resolution with a maximum of 262K colors.
The phone does not come with a standard keypad. The phone has a special option called ‘photo contact’, allowing the user to call a contact by touching an image on the touch screen.
The onboard memory of the Samsung S5230 is 50 MB, which using a MicroSD card can be extended up to a maximum of 8GB.
The Samsung S5230 has good connectivity options. These include the Class 12 GPRS, Class 12 EDGE and WAP. The phone also comes with an inbuilt Bluetooth chip with Bluetooth 2.1 software allowing even faster data transfer than the previous Samsung phones in the series.
The main camera of the phone has a resolution of 3MP.The camera comes with smile detection technology which allows the user to take a picture only when the subject/subjects are smiling. This makes the camera more interesting. The camera can also be used to record photos with a maximum of 15 frames per second. The phone supports QVGA recording making the quality of the videos better.
The Samsung S5230 also comes with a media player which allows the user to play a wide variety of video and audio formats including MP3, WMA and AAC.
Other options in the phone include DNSe, an accelerometer sensor etc. The phone also supports Shazam’s “Find Music” service allowing the user easy access to a range of media.
One of the main disadvantages of the phone is its disappointing camera which does not have the autofocus feature making it a big disadvantage when taking pictures.
Bottom-line the phone is a good one for anyone on a mid range budget. It is possible that this phone will come free with some mobile broadband packages. Interested Buyers can check these out at bestmobilecontracts.
