Sony Ericsson C901 Cybershot
The Sony Ericsson C901 Filippa Cybershot is one of a number of 5 megapixel phones which have been unveiled at the MWC 2009. This exhibition has effectively now showed that 5 megapixel has become the ‘must-have’ camera, rather than 3.2 or 2 megapixels.
The Sony Ericsson C901 Filippa Cybershot’s 5 megapixel camera does, however, come with a difference. Unlike any of the other handsets displayed by any of the manufacturers at the Mobile World Congress, the Sony Ericsson C901 Filippa Cybershot has a Xenon flash.
As it would be known to professed mobile photographers, Sony Ericsson phones which have a Xenon flash outputs some great images even if the surrounding light is not very bright, something which most of the competition is unable to do. Other than the Xenon flash itself, there isn’t much to boast about in the C901. The other features of the camera include automatic lens cover and smile and face detection.
Other features of the C901 include a 2.2 inch screen which has a resolution of 240×320 pixels. The phone also has an accelerometer sensor, which will detect any sideways movements and react accordingly. There is internal memory of 110 MB, which can be extended via the M2 memory card slot which is built into the phone.
The connectivity side of the phone includes Class 10 GPRS, Class 10 EDGE, 3.6 Mbps HSDPA and stereo bluetooth. The disappointing aspect of the connectivity side is the lack of Wi-Fi connectivity, which would’ve made the phone complete in terms of connectivity.
The C901 also has a stereo FM radio with the RDS facility. The music player can support songs encoded in the MP3, AAC and MPEG4 formats. The Track ID, which has become a standard of SE phones, is also present, as is the YouTube application and the blogging one as well.
No details have been announced with regards to the price as well as the expected release date.
