Sony Ericsson S312 Snapshot
Out of the many budget phones already released or scheduled to be released this year, the Sony Ericsson S312 Snapshotstands out. This phone was previously known as the Athena but the name of the phone was changed later though this has not been confirmed officially. Complete details of the specifications have not been released yet but the phone is probably similar to the S302 which was last year’s budget phone with maybe slightly better specifications. The phone adopts the standard dreaded stick format but will probably feature a nice simple basic design and rounded edges. The phone comes with a normal numeric keypad with no special additional keys for media access. The display of the Sony Ericsson S312 Snapshot is a small screen allowing a 176 x 220 resolution.
The Sony Ericsson S312 Snapshots likely to have a low memory .Whether the memory is to be extendable or not has not been confirmed.
The phone probably has limited connectivity options. It might have a Bluetooth chip to enable fast data transfer. HSDPA connectivity is very unlikely.
The S312 Snapshotwill have only a main camera which might have a resolution of more than 2 MP. This camera will definitely not come with the autofocus feature which will definitely be disadvantageous. Videos cannot be recorded as this is a snapshot model.
The main disadvantage of this phone will surround the screen which is very small and can seem really cramped. The fixed focus camera is also likely to be poor even if the resolution is slightly higher. Advanced connectivity options are also likely to be rather limited which will be a big disadvantage.
This shouldn’t discourage phone buyers though. Until the full specifications are available all details on the phone are based on rumors and leaks. The phone is probably very affordable. Finally this might even turn out to be the best low price range on the market! Check Sony Ericsson’s own site for updates on the S312.
